01. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide a visa-friendly job search experience for international students and foreign workers.

Personal information you provide:

• Full name
• Email address and password
• Current country and target work countries (US, Canada)
• Work authorization status (visa type, expiry, sponsorship needs)
• Educational background and years of experience
• Resume content (uploaded file and parsed text)
• Job preferences (titles, industries, salary ranges, employment types, locations)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers)
• Any other content you submit through forms, support requests, or feedback

Information collected automatically:

• IP address and approximate location
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages visited and features used
• Job interaction activity (jobs viewed, saved)

Information from the Interview Copilot desktop app:

• Audio captured during interview sessions for real-time AI assistance (processed transiently, not stored beyond the session unless you opt in to history)
• Session metadata (duration, model used, prompts shown)
• Crash reports and diagnostic logs

02. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Match you with sponsoring roles based on your visa status and resume
• Power the Interview Copilot's real-time interview assistance
• Score employers for sponsorship strength using public visa filing data
• Process subscription payments and provide receipts
• Send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, billing, account changes)
• Send job-match digest emails (you can opt out anytime in Settings)
• Improve our ranking, scoring, and product over time
• Detect fraud and protect our platform from abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not take payment from employers to surface their jobs. Our rankings reflect public data about employer sponsorship history (LCA filings, USCIS approvals, LMIA records) and your individual fit — never commissions or sponsored placement.

Legal basis for processing (where the GDPR or similar laws apply): we process your account and profile data, run job ranking, and operate the Interview Copilot to perform our contract with you; we rely on our legitimate interests to secure the platform, prevent fraud, and improve our product; we rely on your consent for marketing/digest emails and any optional features you turn on (you can withdraw consent at any time); and we process certain records to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting law).

03. AI Processing

Landvaya uses AI to power several features:

• Interview Copilot real-time prompts and outlines (Pro tier)
• Job ranking and visa-fit scoring
• Sponsorship signal extraction from public government filings

When you use these features, the relevant information (interview audio if Copilot is running, your profile and resume content for ranking) may be processed by AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). These providers process this information under their own terms and do not retain it for model training beyond the limited windows required by their abuse-monitoring systems.

You can disable AI features for your account at any time by contacting support.

04. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate:

• Cloud infrastructure: Render, Supabase (Postgres database + storage), Cloudflare
• Payments: Stripe (subscription billing, never stores card numbers on our servers)
• Email delivery: Resend (transactional and digest emails)
• AI model providers: Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI for Interview Copilot
• Error monitoring: Sentry (anonymized error reports)
• Uptime monitoring: UptimeRobot (no personal data)

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations to protect your information.

We do not share your information with employers without your explicit action.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect Landvaya, our users, or the public from harm.

05. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data:

• TLS encryption for all data in transit (HTTPS only)
• Encrypted database at rest
• Row-level security for tenant isolation in our database
• Access controls and audit logs for any operator-side access
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates

No system is fully secure. If we discover a data breach affecting you, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

06. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, or other applicable laws), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (for processing based on consent)

07. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Your profile, resume, and personal data are soft-deleted immediately
• Stripe subscriptions are canceled at the end of the current billing period
• Audit logs and billing records are retained for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years in the US)
• Anonymized usage analytics may be retained indefinitely

08. Cookies and Tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies:

• Session cookies to keep you signed in
• Security cookies to prevent fraud
• Analytics cookies (anonymized) to improve the product

We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

09. International Data Transfers

Landvaya is based in the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.

10. Children's Privacy

Landvaya is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will notify users by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Landvaya after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
